Safety & testing
Our first design rule: nothing that can hurt a three-year-old.
Designed in from the start
- No cords or strings. Early versions used a cable. We dropped it, because a cord across a room is a strangulation risk. The ride now runs on a rigid, snap-together track.
- No small parts. The animals and gondolas are sized so they are not choking hazards.
- Enclosed motor with a slip clutch. If a little hand grabs a gondola, the motor slips instead of pulling.
- Screw-secured battery door. Batteries stay where little fingers can't reach them.
- Rounded edges, no sharp points.
- Track that lets go. Pieces separate under a firm pull instead of tipping furniture.
Testing before we ship
- Independent testing at a CPSC-accepted lab to ASTM F963, the US toy safety standard, covering small parts, sharp edges, battery safety, and more.
- Testing for lead and phthalates, as required by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.
- A Children's Product Certificate and tracking labels on every box, as US law requires.
If it doesn't pass, it doesn't ship, and every pre-order gets a full refund.
